The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Designs/develops the security and integrity of cyber systems and networks. As a subject matter expert, interfaces with executives on highest-level functional issues, providing recommendations and solutions with full understanding of cross-organizational impact and needs. Designs and develops leading-edge analytical and technical methodologies, tools, and policies/standards to ensure a cyber-secure environment for customer. Researches and maintains proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer network vulnerabilities, data hiding, and network security/encryption. Investigates computer and information security incidents to determine extent of compromise to national security information and automated information systems. Designs, develops, or recommends integrated system solutions ensuring proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected. Configures and validates secure systems, test security products/systems to detect computer and information security weakness. Provides innovative solutions to complex functional problems that impact function’s success.

Typical Duties Include:

  • Understand the security operations and challenges in the current and future state of our business operations
  • Security operations: Evaluate the IT threat landscape, devise cyber security policy and controls to reduce risk, lead auditing and compliance initiatives, and more.
  • Disaster recovery: Develop cyber resiliency so our organization can rapidly recover from hacking, security incidents, or infringements.
  • Documentation: Contribute to a variety of security policy domains associated with compliance, governance, risk management, incident management, and additional domains
  • Compliance: Ensure that our organization is adaptable to evolving compliance regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Requires a BS degree in IT, IT Security, Network Systems Technology, or related field or equivalent experience plus 12 years of directly related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and certifications.

Preferred Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Additional Information

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust the schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
