What We Offer
$16.81-$20.59/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates
Essential Functions/Responsibilities/Duties
Package prescriptions to send to the pharmacies, after verifying that the correct medication, paperwork, and patient counseling instructions are provided.
Maintain awareness of stock level and enter orders for restocking based on defined minimum inventory levels. Verify quantity and submit orders to the Wholesaler.
Verify product orders received with invoice and purchase order. Place a sticker on each item and place it on the shelf.
Monitor and check expiration dates on drugs in stock.
Return to stock or discard dispensed prescriptions if a pharmacy returns them.
Answer the phone, respond to non-professional level inquiries, and transfer other calls to appropriate staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
Professional Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Pharmacy Assistant state registration within 60 days of employment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Effective verbal and listening communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, faxing, scanning, and copying.
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to organize work while performing multiple tasks requiring attention to detail.
Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information with discretion.
Basic proficiency with various computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, Pharmacy Management software, automated filling software, and Patient Communications Systems.
Drug testing: This position requires testing for controlled substances before employment and will be subject to further testing throughout employment.
