Position Overview:

ANSER is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer/Subject Matter Expert to support the National Reconnaissance Organization (NRO) in Chantilly. In this role you will provide engineering support for the planning, acquisition, and fielding of an enterprise of interdependent major systems ensuring the success of the government customer. You will provide NRO/SED requirements compilation, analysis, & traceability for warfighter and broad user community needs and satisfaction criteria from the SOC level down to Acquisition Office (AO). NRO systems support spans a variety of enterprise and/or programmatic engineering functions including planning and integration; requirements, schedule, risk, and configuration management; lifecycle readiness, verification and validation, transition management and mission assurance.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Create, deliver, and maintain an integrated activity forecast supporting major system acquisitions, including major acquisition reviews and requirement events, budget events, including major process events in the Intelligence Community Capability Requirements and Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System processes
  • Investigate and advise on proposed architecture alternatives and options to mitigate capability gaps and take advantage of opportunities improving the enterprise capabilities
  • Coordinate and execute engineering investigations of architecture concepts to assess feasibility, interoperability, and suitability
  • Coordinate, integrate, and execute requirements management activities in accordance with the customer's defined processes.
  • Support the refinement and baselining of allocated requirements and maintain traceability following agency approved standards and practices and consistent with JCIDS and ICCR processes
  • Adhere to agency's schedule management process; update, deliver, and maintain scheduling products with integrated milestones and identifying dependency linkages
  • Conduct schedule analysis, including critical path analysis, schedule validation and quality validation
  • Executing Risk, Issue, and Opportunity Management process, advise and support risk working groups
  • Create, deliver, and maintain risk assessments
  • Coordinate, integrate, and execute risk, issues, and opportunities (R/I/O) processes at the working level, system level and enterprise level
  • Support the identification, assessment, and incorporation of Configuration Items into approved Configuration Items, support the request for change (RFC) process, review RFC technical responses, and assess for necessary requirements changes
  • Coordinate, integrate and execute the lifecycle readiness process consistent with the agency's standards, methods, and practices
  • Coordinate, integrate, and execute the verification and validation management processes at the system and enterprise level
  • Coordinate, integrate, and execute verification and validation of requirements per the requirements closure process
  • Create, deliver, and maintain a configuration-managed archive and library of test data
  • Support Mission Assurance activities, including supporting and advising on enterprise-wide standards for the development and vetting of new hardware and software
  • Update, deliver and maintain the agency wide standards baseline
  • Investigate, track, and advise on mergers and acquisitions of companies within the space industrial base providing critical technology and capability for impact to acquisitions
  • Coordinate, integrate, and execute technical studies of current or planned industrial capabilities, new technologies, and state of the art manufacturing for suitability
  • Investigate, track, and advise on risks, issues, and opportunities associated with mission assurance, industrial base, and supply chain issues affecting new and existing programs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 20+ years of related system engineering experience.
  • TS/SCI with Poly Security Clearance.
  • Systems Engineering experience with Model-Based Engineering applications and technology
  • OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional certification or demonstrated commensurate level of knowledge
  • Knowledge of the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
  • Knowledge and experience with System Modeling Language (SysML)
  • Experience with Cameo, SparxEA, or Rhapsody tool suites
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
