Overview
Provide leadership and expertise in advanced, cross-functional data analytics to deliver actionable analyses that drive Global Enrollment Management and Student Success (GEMSS) business processes and answer strategic questions about impact, outcomes, and future trends. Develop strategy to analyze, forecast, and visualize all aspects of enrollment management data including student recruitment activity, financial aid information, retention rates, student success metrics, as well as operational and customer service data to enable decision making and recommend changes in processes, policies, and technologies. Partner with the AVP of Enrollment Strategy to lead and manage analytics activities, ensuring alignment with University-wide strategic goals. Advise on best practices for external data reporting, ensuring compliance with industry standards, institutional policy, and data integrity and governance. Provide custom reports and conduct comprehensive analyses of external data sources, including competitor groups, publicly available datasets, and national rankings to benchmark the Universitys standing relative to peer institutions, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth in enrollment processes and outcomes. Supervise two Data Modeling analysts to improve predictive models, enrollment forecasts, and other analytics tools. Ensure that data models reflect evolving institutional needs and market conditions, and drive continuous improvements in data accuracy and relevance. Stay informed about trends in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other emerging technologies that could enhance data analysis and decision-making within the enrollment management space. Provide recommendations on the potential applications, risks, and benefits of integrating AI into enrollment processes, data analysis, and predictive modeling.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Master's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education Research, Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or Statistics. or Doctoral Degree Higher Education Research or Statistics
Required Experience: 7+ years experience in analytics.
Preferred Experience: 7+ years in higher education, enrollment management, or enrollment analytics.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Expertise in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, etc.) Ability to synthesize complex data and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide data analysts. Strong knowledge of enrollment management processes, higher education trends, and external reporting standards. Familiarity with emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning, and their application in data analytics. Strong background in data visualization, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling. Experience working with large, complex datasets and external data sources. Proven track record of translating data analysis into actionable strategic recommendations.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: FERPA and other federal compliance relevant to higher education data usage. Understanding of financial aid and leveraging techniques. Significant experience managing complex projects with aggressive deadlines, and advanced knowledge of visualization techniques. Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of how data can drive institutional success. Collaborative, with the ability to work across departments and with senior leadership to shape enrollment strategy. Detail-oriented, with a strong ability to ensure data integrity and quality. Forward-thinking and innovative, always exploring ways to improve processes and drive efficiencies.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $130,000.00 to USD $170,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
