Job Description:

Veritiv's Internship Program will provide real world experience, team projects, social events, volunteer work and professional development trainings. The internships are full-time, hybrid and run June 2 to August 8, 2025.



Job Purpose:



As a Corporate Communications and Community Relations Intern, you will be responsible for assisting in the development of content for a variety of internal and external communications channels, as well as assisting in project management for a variety of community relations events, supporting nonprofit engagement.



Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with multiple internal customers on projects and presentations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline process improvements.
• Take ownership of a project and then assist other team members to support company initiatives.



Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Research, write and edit a variety of communications materials, including social media posts, articles, company and department news, customer success stories, employee profiles, event summaries, employee engagement features, corporate initiative and community engagement updates, interviews, etc.
• Assist in monitoring social media and internal digital platforms and support response strategy and execution on those sites.
• Collaborate with the team on new ideas and tools to help enhance communications and community relations strategies.
• Work with a variety of internal departments and locations in the development of content and support of community efforts.
• Support the graphic design department and provide additional team-related support as necessary.
• Act as point of contact and help coordinate logistics for Veritiv volunteer and community events as well as outreach for external programs.
• Periodically attend Community Relations events including member organization meetings, volunteer events, nonprofit site visits, etc.
• Support the monthly inventory donation process by way of Smartsheet updates, edits, and cross departmental communications.
• Must be at least a rising junior, senior or recent college graduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Affairs, English or other related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience with social media, and digital communications channels preferred.
• Positive and professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of team members in various departments.
• Highly motivated, self-starter.
• At least two writing samples are required as well as participating in a writing test.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong planning and organization skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.
• The ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.



Education:

• Bachelor's Degree In Progress
