Veritiv's Internship Program will provide real world experience, team projects, social events, volunteer work and professional development trainings. The internships are full-time, hybrid and run June 2 to August 8, 2025.
Job Purpose:
Our Corporate Transportation Specialist Intern will support the operations of Veritiv's third-party freight shipments for our core business. This role will ensure best-in-class service for our vendors by optimizing our logistics services to provide transportation solutions for the paper, packaging, and facility supplies enterprises of Veritiv Corporation while continuously reducing transportation costs and streamlining processes.
Job Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with multiple internal customers on projects and presentations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline process improvements.
• Take ownership of a project and then assist other team members to support company initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
• Optimization Project: Optimize and streamline a Transportation process, implementing a new SOP based upon your findings.
• Support execution for the strategy of transacting all third-party freight in a common Transportation Management System.
• Liaison between Veritiv's suppliers, sales force, operations, inventory team and our 3rd Party Carriers
• Determine lowest-cost carrier and best mode of transportation for Veritiv's third-party core shipments.
• Communicate with assigned division Logistics Managers to examine results and improvement opportunities.
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external merchants.
• Provide tracking updates to merchants or suppliers when necessary.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain.
• Pursuing a logistics, supply chain or business degree is preferred.
• Experience with freight transportation management systems such as Mercury Gate International is a plus.
• Industry knowledge of current LTL and Full Truckload market is a plus.

• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong planning and organization skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.
• The ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree In Progress
