Shift: Flex shift 3pm- 12pm time (Second/Third Shift)



Position Type: Direct



Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer responsible for designing, building, and installing equipment for Lear plants globally. Our diverse portfolio includes ASRS systems, automated conveyors, pallet elevators, stackers/destackers, pallet turntables, automatic labelers, shipping trailers, and build line integration.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the use of safety harnesses, fork trucks, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and LOTO protocols.


  • Foster mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.


  • Communicate effectively across cross-functional groups.


  • Manage projects from technical specification through to startup support.


  • Design and develop electrical control systems, equipment, and programming in accordance with Lear standards, incorporating innovative solutions.


  • Write, implement, and debug PLC software.


  • Provide support to existing Lear automated equipment globally.


  • Develop predictive maintenance indicators to enhance reliability and minimize downtime (e.g., CBM, Industry 4.0).


  • Create contingency and disaster recovery plans.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Software Engineering.


  • Minimum of three years of experience in a controls engineering role at an automation/machine build shop.


  • Proven self-starter and team player with a positive attitude.


  • Demonstrated creative thinking, results orientation, and attention to detail.


  • Expertise in RSLogix5000, Studio5000, and FactoryTalk View Studio.


  • Proficiency with I/O Link, AB components, drive control, and Keyence cameras.


  • Ability to read and create electrical drawings using AutoCAD.


  • Strong ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.


  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards, including general industry standards, machine guarding, robot safety, automated vehicles, and conveyor safety.


  • Self-driven with a willingness to work extended hours during installations, if required.
