Salary: $150,000.00 USD Annually - $175,000.00 USD Annually

Description: Our client is currently seeking an Associate Director - Commodities Risk Management



Associate Director - Commodity Risk Management and Category Lead

Overview:



As a key member of our Procurement team, the Commodity Risk Management and Category Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability and cost-effective procurement of essential commodities. This position will require a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of commodity markets and risk management techniques.



Responsibilities:



  • Risk Management: Analyze commodity markets, assess risks, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborate with Finance and Commercial teams to set annual business plans.

  • Prepare and present detailed reports on commodity market trends and risks.

  • Monitor and report on hedging activities to ensure compliance.




Supply Management:



  • Develop and execute category strategies to optimize supply chains.

  • Source and contract with suppliers to secure favorable terms.

  • Collaborate with R&D on new supply sources and material specifications.

  • Manage a team responsible for operational aspects of commodity procurement.

  • Work with Quality to address supplier quality issues.




Leadership:



  • Mentor and develop team members to achieve peak performance.

  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to the organization.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commodity risk management or trading roles within a consumer goods company.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Proven expertise in financial risk management techniques (e.g., forward contracts, futures, options, swaps).


  • In-depth knowledge of beef, wheat, dairy, pork, chicken, and energy markets.

  • Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing market conditions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and market monitoring tools.

  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%.
