Sr. Manager Product Management

This is a highly visible and impactful role; you will lead a geographically distributed product management team to build and bring to market our next generation of software that is poised to revolutionize the application security and delivery market.  

As a team leader in product management, you will be a key player in driving product innovation and excellence within Local Traffic Management (LTM) spanning both software and hardware platforms. Working at the forefront of product development, you will lead initiatives to drive growth, enhance user experience, and deliver value to our customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our product portfolio, contributing to our mission of transforming the cyber security industry. We work collaboratively, driving strategic alignment within the organization, and have the ability to communicate effectively to both internal and external audiences.

Primary Responsibilities and Team Objectives:


  • Prioritize customer value in the development of next-generation BIG-IP Software with a focus on Local Traffic Management (LTM).

  • Target the product accurately in the market, build competitive advantages, and implement go-to-market strategies to maximize sales efficiency.

  • Serve as the company’s authority on Roadmap across multiple areas, including traffic protocols, core data/control-plane, supportability, observability, product onboarding, programmability, and platform support for BIG-IP Next.

  • Conduct market analyses, define product/solution requirements, and perform financial ROI analyses to guide strategic product roadmaps.

  • Create and deliver tailored presentations to various audiences, acting as a key evangelist for F5 and its product/solution set.

  • Develop business cases to support customer feature requests.

  • Collaborate with engineering leaders to prioritize execution against goals and provide business context and trade-offs to optimize product delivery.

  • Engage with customers to drive product adoption and secure early adopters, collecting feedback via meetings, industry events, surveys, and interviews to influence product evolution.

  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across marketing, support, systems, sales, engineering, and commercial models to articulate dependencies and ensure aligned execution.

  • Represent the product area at sales and customer-facing forums, including conferences and industry events.

  • Build a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative team that takes pride in mutual success.

  • Coach, mentor, and enable the success of a highly talented team of product managers and product owners.

REQUIRED SKILLS EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:  


  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to listen, organize and champion key initiatives and projects for product development

  • Background and experience in networking software and networking hardware across on-prem, public cloud, and private cloud.

  • Ownership mindset with the natural inclinations to take challenges head on and deliver impact. 

  • Bias towards data driven decision making that incorporates analytical rigor and managerial judgment. 

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to articulate complex technology clearly

  • Flexible, self-motivated, positive teammate with excellent leadership, interpersonal & persuasion skills

  • Proven track record as a leader within product management with a proven track record of shipping products.

  • Demonstrated ability working across engineering, product management, release management, support etc. 

  • Passion for leading teams and contributing to the career development of individuals. 

  • Ability to straddle across strategy, technical depth and execution in product delivery. 

  • Minimum of a Bachelors in engineering or business is required. Graduate degree in engineering or business is a plus. 

  • 8+ years of industry experience

  • 5+ years of experience in product management

  • Travel 10%-20%

The annual base pay for this position is: $172,546.00 - $258,818.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
