The Planner I is responsible for the day-to-day acquisition and administration of all assigned commodities necessary for plant production. This position monitors and expedites the flow of goods, resources, and information required by the supply chain to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals and performance KPIs.
What You'll Be Doing
Coordinates with procurement, production, inventory control, distribution, transportation, and other functions to optimize the supply chain.
Identifies bottlenecks or problem areas and escalates for resolution.
Participates in process improvement projects within supply chain to improve efficiency and reduce overall cost position.
Works with suppliers to resolve basic issues and manage supplier performance.
Purchases standard commodities for use in manufacturing including executing purchase orders and performs inventory analysis.
Monitors delivery schedules and tracks orders.
Assists with establishing Supplier-Owned Inventory (SOI) programs with targeted partners.
Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) regularly.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing purchasing/supply chain environment
Ability to analyze and solve problems with data driven approach and root cause analysis skill.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Strong math skills and excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, organization, and time-management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation with internal department and external suppliers.
Ability to collaborate within a team environment, as well as work independently without management oversight in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
