Job Description:

The Health Services Nurse works with Plant Management to manage daily injury care, facility health programs and transition duty employees.

Essential Functions

    • Treat injured employees

    • Triage consultation with other NEI locations

    • Direct transitional duty program between supervisors and employees

    • Work closely with 3rd party medical providers to ensure proper and efficient care for employees.

    • Manages all health programs (PFT, Audiometric/Hearing Conservation, PPE, First Aid/CPR)

    • Completes audits in plant.

    • Conducts monthly supervisor training on health and injury related topics

    • Participates on Safety, Ergonomics and Wellness teams

    • Cost justifications for capital projects

    • Injury statistical analysis

    • Manages our electronic incident database for completion and accuracy of all incidents (i.e. SMS, AS400, SharePoint)

    • Manage OSHA logs

    • Daily management of workers compensation

    • Complete on-site drug screens

This position description is intended to cover the most significant, ongoing job functions and competency areas.  Successful performance in the role will require performing satisfactorily other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience Requirements


  • CPR Certified

  • LPN, RN, NP, or Paramedic/EMT

  • 5 years of nursing experience. Occupational or Emergency nursing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

The worker must be able to access, analyze and otherwise work with, enter information stored in or obtained through the company's computer system, and to communicate effectively with co-workers and third parties who have business dealings with the company's operations.  

Travel Requirements

5% based on training.
