Purpose

Performs design engineering and product support.

Essential Functions

Engineering


  • Can apply problem solving skills to troubleshoot current project and work through any issues or hurdles.
  • Implements practical aspects of mechanical and electrical design engineering in work product.
  • Employs analytical technical problem solving; observation, deductive reasoning, hypothesis testing, in order to achieve the above, and, troubleshoot customer and manufacturing problems and issues.
  • Creates design engineering documentation; assists with QC and manufacturing documentation as required.

Requirements


  • Possess basic understanding of 3d CAD software and its general understanding
  • Eager to troubleshoot and support ongoing issues and learn about rotating machines.
  • Engaged and capable to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Not afraid to ask questions to better understand the incoming work and issue.

Accountability

Reports to Motors Engineering Manager. Ensures that all work is done in accordance with Customer specifications and Company Policy. Keeps Motors Engineering Manager aware of all progress and problems.

Physical Requirements

Job requires sitting at a desk doing normal office work, including phone communications and using a computer. Also involves standing and walking in an office and a manufacturing facility.

Environmental / Safety / Time Allocation


  • Spends approximately 75% of time working at a desk in a normal office environment.
  • Spends about 25% of time on work away from desk, including going out into shop and discussing manufacturing issues with Manufacturing Department personnel. Must wear eye protection and any other required personal protective equipment while on the shop floor.

Education / Experience

Interest in Mechanical/Electrical machines. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to interface with all levels of staff including outside customers and vendors.
