Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and testing of a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from submarine platforms.
Design electro-mechanical systems to withstand harsh environmental conditions, including shock, vibration, and extreme temperatures.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, plus 8+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
CAD Proficiency: Extensive experience using CAD tools (SolidWorks or CREO) for creating 3D models and technical data packages meeting ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards.
Mechanical Design Expertise: Experience in designing for defense applications with environmental requirements such as shock, vibration, and temperature.
Analysis Skills: Proficient in performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental standards.
Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, and familiarity with technical, government, and industry standards.
Drafting Expertise: Strong drafting background, including ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.
Defense Industry Experience: Proven experience working in the defense sector, with an understanding of its unique requirements.
Preferred Skills:
Experience writing technical papers and proposals.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects to successful outcomes.
