Responsibilities:
Design, implement, simulate, and test firmware for FPGA- and microcontroller-based systems to meet mission-critical requirements.
Define and optimize FPGA timing, pinout, and placement constraints; review synthesis and timing reports, and resolve issues.
Develop and test digital circuits and firmware on target hardware.
Build and validate test systems, including software applications and integration testing.
Generate system/software/interface requirements, detailed designs, and supporting documentation.
Conduct trade studies, analyses, and testing, presenting results and status to the team.
Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance system capabilities.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
FPGA Expertise: Proficient in FPGA design using VHDL, including verification and timing closure.
Firmware Development: Experienced in microcontroller firmware development using C or C++.
Digital Circuit Design: Solid expertise in digital circuit design and low-level communication interfaces.
Embedded Systems: Skilled with Linux, embedded operating systems, memory technologies, voltage regulation devices, ADCs, and DACs.
Lab Equipment: Proficient in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and soldering tools.
Technical Documentation: Capable of creating clear and detailed documentation for embedded systems.
