SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Engineering Technician IV.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking an experienced Engineer Technician to support Imaging Testing efforts in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will provide technical evaluation and perform required corrective actions for Imaging in accordance with Applicable Systems Instructions, and DoD and Navy Maintenace Procedures. This position will assist in the disassembly, reassembly, installation and testing of Imaging components; as well as providing support to a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing and operation of Imaging in accordance with engineering specifications. The Engineering Technician will perform non routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents which are not fully applicable. Such assignments, which are typically parts of broader assignments, are screened to eliminate unusual design problems. May also plan such assignments. This position requires some travel, up to two weeks.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Develops or reviews designs byextracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data.
  • Applies conventionalengineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs,specifications, electrical drawings and diagrams.
  • Hardware fittings or testequipment involving a variety of mechanisms; conventional piping systems.
  • Building site layouts.
  • Conducts tests or experiments requiring selection andadaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment andtest procedures and redesigns as necessary.
  • Sets up and operates equipment; records data, measures andrecords problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution ata higher level.
  • Applies methodsoutlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects.
  • Constructs experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements.
  • Records andevaluates data and reports findings.
  • Assist with test and evaluation; performvalidation/verification of the Imaging systems.
  • Assist in accomplishing Engineering ChangeInstructions.
  • Assist in development of technical/engineeringdata for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshootingprocedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainabilityimprovements.
  • Support systems engineering activities withsubject matter expertise.
  • Direct on-site customer interface forequipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and otherengineering tasks as needed.
  • Comply with engineering documentation standards,engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures; review changeproposals for equipment impacts.
  • Provide support in the development of technicalproposals and provide input on technical content and level of effort of theproposed scope of work.

Qualifications:

Education: Technical School Diploma.

Experience: 4 years of experience.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
