Position Summary: As the Vice Chair of Anatomic Pathology at our Hospital Partner Laboratory helps the Chair direct and inspire excellence in a group of subspecialty-trained pathologists in a multi-site hospital system. The Vice Chair assists the Chair to represent the Pathology department at the Medical Staff level and works closely with the health system administration for the improvement of quality pathology care. They may also serve as a site-specific clinical laboratory Medical Director reporting up to the Chief of Clinical Pathology, with overall responsibility for the function, certification, and licensure of that specific laboratory. Core Responsibilities
Provide professional pathology services for both anatomic and clinical pathology
Assist the Chair to develop and implement a robust quality management program for the anatomic pathology laboratory sections
Assist the Chief of Clinical Pathology to develop and implement a robust quality management program for the clinical pathology laboratory sections
Work closely with clinical and administrative staff at the NeoGenomics Hospital Client as well as NeoGenomics leadership to ensure the highest standards of TAT, quality, and customer service are maintained
Help to provide delegated medical direction and final approval for new method validations, equipment purchase and utilization, and test selection
Provide/delegate assistance with chemistry, blood bank, microbiology, and hematology concerns, such as clinical consultations, write up of blood bank reactions, and general pathology support of technical laboratory staff
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
M.D. or D.O degree and board certification/eligibility Anatomic and Clinical Pathology are required. Additional fellowship training is encouraged2 years’ experience in dedicated risk management role required
MD or DO degree plus accredited pathology residency
Must be board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology
5+ years post residency clinical work experience required
Previous leadership experience strongly preferred
Must hold valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in FL or be eligible to obtain licensure
Strong customer focus and understanding of hospital/laboratory operationsAbility to communicate with decision makers in the hospitals, laboratories, and Company
