SA-TECH supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command's Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks and Pohakuloa Training Area, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii's (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.
At Schofield Barracks, HI, SA-TECH is seeking to hire a Material Coordinator for the Modernization Displacement Repair Site (MDRS) to play a vital role in the management, handling, and accountability of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The Material Coordinator is a critical member of the MDRS team, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and accountability of hazardous materials and general inventory. This role contributes to the efficiency and compliance of site operations, directly supporting mission success.
This position requires knowledge of management principles, standards, and techniques, as well as familiarity with Federal, Department of Defense (DOD), State, and Local regulations related to environmental protection. The Material Coordinator ensures proper documentation, labeling, and storage of hazardous materials (Hazmat) while supporting overall MDRS operations.
Specific duties include (but are not limited to):
Hazmat Documentation and Packaging:
Review hazardous materials (Hazmat) documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Relabel and package Hazmat according to applicable regulations and MDRS policies.
Provide initial inventory and identification of hazardous materials upon receipt.
Inventory Management:
Receive and process materials in coordination with MDRS Supply Technicians.
Utilize automated equipment to maintain accurate accountability of all incoming assets.
Ensure incoming freight is properly marked, labeled, and stored in compliance with policies and procedures.
Warehouse Operations:
Perform Warehouse Specialist duties, including stowage of materials in designated locations.
Band, wrap, and move skids using powered industrial trucks and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Assist with moving equipment and items to designated areas upon receipt.
Compliance and Safety:
Stay current with all hazardous materials regulations and guidelines.
Label skids with Dangerous Goods Declaration forms (DD 2890) or IATA Declaration of Dangerous Goods forms, along with any required documentation.
Adhere to all safety and health regulations and maintain compliance with contract requirements as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Performance Requirement Summary (PRS).
Additional Duties:
Analyze documentation for errors or inconsistencies and correct them as needed.
Perform tasks as assigned by the ISSA Supervisor, MDRS Supply Technicians, and the Supply and Services Division Manager.
Work Conditions:
Most work will be performed indoors
Work will include standing, sitting, reaching, bending and other office-type activities
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
Requirements:
Education/Experience/Skills
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Hazmat certification is required.
Certification to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) is required.
Knowledge of hazardous material regulations and guidelines, including Federal, DOD, State, and Local environmental protection standards.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling and documenting materials.
Relocation assistance is not provided and candidates must reside within commuting distance or indicate a willingness to relocate at their own expense.
Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
