Your mission

A Senior VFX Artist will craft explosions, spells, ambient world effects, and larger world-destruction animations. You will be the bridge between art and design communicating gameplay ideas to the player all while building a compelling visual storytelling experience. An artist on this team should be fast and efficient, and possess strong, hand-painted texturing skills and fundamentals such as timing, motion, shape language, and 3D composition. We encourage you to continue the core mission of the WoW Art team, which is crafting the highest quality handcrafted art in the industry. You can help us build a fun, engaging world for players.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person's circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options , including remote work arrangements.

Responsabilities :

• Create spells, creature attacks, explosions and more V FX animations in the World of Warcraft V FX style

• Strong hand painted texturing skill that fits within the larger world

• Ability to prototype and create block-out V FX

• Enthusiasm for working closely with other Artists

• Communicate with Production, Design , and Outsource vendors

Minimum requirements

• Some level of experience developing particle systems and geometry based visual effects

• Understand real-time game development needs

• Self-driven, passionate, creative problem solver, and a great team first attitude

• Ability to explore a wide variety of ideas that push the World of Warcraft style

• Ability to identify , mentor and grow talent

• Clear and concise communicator, able to deliver complex creative feedback

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role's range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
