Responsibilities
The Dockworker, Warehousing Customer Specialist is responsible for safely and efficiently unloading, sorting, handling, and loading freight in accordance with verbal and written instructions, as well as Federal, State and customer regulations, while inspecting and preparing products to ensure they meet specific account requirements.

Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, or delivery vehicles or containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
Control and maintain all records required for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
Perform Cycle Counts on customer’s inventory and report findings and any discrepancies to Team Lead.
Perform Flip and Sticks on product as required for specific accounts, which includes opening existing pallets, flipping 55lb bags and applying new 8.5” x 11” ingredient labels for new destination country, repalletizing, fixing new pallet IDs and placards, and organizing customer sales orders storage.
Compile a schedule with Team Lead and Supervisor to perform all cleaning tasks for customer’s QC department.
Operate and maintain the floor scrubber and perform weekly PMs provided by manufacturer and train new Dockworker, Warehousing Customer Specialist’s on operating the floor scrubber.
Fix torn bags of customer product timely and repalletize.
Load export containers (inspect, prep, load, photograph, and close).
Work in a team environment to accomplish work assignments.
Periodically use computers, email, scanners, and the warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory, create paperwork, or document reporting.
Support and promote company core values.
Regular attendance is required.
Comply with company security procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required to operate forklifts or pallet jacks once authorized.
Attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
Ability to read and interpret general business documents.
Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence.
Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts.
Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require limited judgment.
Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve routine problems.
Good judgment; knows when to escalate issues and when to try to resolve.
Ability to work independently or in a team setting, in a fast paced environment.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel, as well as internet, web-based and job specific software applications, such as the WMS.
Ability to type and update computer system quickly and accurately.
Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization.
A team player with a high level of energy and self-motivation.
Excellent spelling, grammar and written/ oral communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high stress environment.
Experience working in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry preferred.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

None required. Forklift certification preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is in the warehouse regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
