Responsibilities

The Administrative Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the facilitation of a safe environment and a safe level of nursing care through coordination of interdepartmental services, patient placement, clinical support and information flow. The Administrative Nursing Supervisor is the Administrator in Charge responsible for hospital-wide decision-making in the absence of more senior leadership on site, which requires coordinating with outside agencies, public relation activities, disasters, etc.; interpreting policies; communication with leaders and others; and general problem solving of hospital issues.



Qualifications

Education:

Academic degree in nursing (BSN) required; MSN/MN preferred.

Experience:

Acute clinical nursing and prior supervisory experience.

Knowledge of clinical areas, nursing unit function, and higher-level administrative and organizational resources.

Knowledge/Skills:

Strong oral and written communication and negotiation skills adaptable to a wide variety of interpersonal encounters across organizational levels, including ability to lead by example.

Ability to organize, prioritize and apply problem solving skills in a self-directed manner.

Advanced understanding of hospital systems.

Ability to perform well in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.

Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
