LB&B Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee operations, mechanical maintenance, and janitorial services of Mecklenburg County Courts. Position reports to the Facilities Manager.
The ideal candidate shall have at least a High School Diploma, and a minimum of five (5) years of recent experience as an Chief Engineer, Facility Supervisor, Facility Manager or related position overseeing the preventative and corrective maintenance of similar equipment (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, BAS, CMMS, etc) the facilities being managed under this contract. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with an operating and maintenance team. The ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization is essential.
Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
Coordinates activities of maintenance workers.
Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
