Job Description:

What you will do:

The Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing platform system solutions and components for low voltage energy storage and conversion system products such as lithium-ion batteries. You will develop the system concept for a set of core elements (cells, HW modules, SW blocks, mechanical design principles,..), mutually aligned to allow realization of products in different product lines while executing all systems engineering activities from requirements development to integration and verification.

How you will do it:


  • Defines and, together with the systems engineering team, executes all systems engineering activities along the V-cycle in alignment with the hardware, software, mechanical and electrochemistry engineering teams.


  • Derives system requirements for platform systems in alignment with product management, sales and application engineering.


  • Develops system product architectures including the definition of the respective system elements.


  • Aligns requirements for the system elements together with the related engineering domains, including acceptance criteria.


  • Develops an integration and verification strategy and supervises integration and verification.


  • Aligns the maturity of the outcome of the platform system engineering activities with the needs of the application engineering projects.


  • Focuses on design to cost, design to manufacture and time to market.


  • Contributes to the definition and maintenance of a platform roadmap.


  • Defines and advances systems engineering processes, guidelines and tools.


What we look for:

Required:


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution required.


  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in systems and product engineering including product launch.


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the development of automotive battery systems or x-in-1 electrification integration products.


  • Domain knowledge in automotive electronics, software, mechanical, and electrochemical systems and ability to lead peer-level technical discussion with those domains.


  • Experience in systems engineering and functional safety according to industry and automotive standards (ISO 15288, ISO 26262; certification is a plus, e.g., INCOSE CSEP)


Preferred:


  • Experience in systems engineering according to industry and automotive standards (ISO 26262, ISO 15288; certification is a plus, e.g., INCOSE CSEP)


  • Experience and confidence in the use of requirements and system engineering tools (e.g., Jama, Cameo System Modeler).


  • Experience in agile development is a plus.
