OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center is Oklahoma’s only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-Designated Cancer Center, and one of only 72 NCI-Designated Cancer Centers in the United States. The Stephenson Cancer Center is now hiring for a Program Manager-HPRC at the Health Promotion Research Center. The Program manager is responsible for program management and oversight of day-to-day operations.

Duties:



  • Responsible for daily program management throughout the program lifecycle.

  • Aligns deliverables to the program outcome.

  • Meets with stakeholders to discuss program status and goals.

  • Manages the program budget, develops proposals, negotiates and administers grants and contracts.

  • Supervises staff, including hiring, training, orientations for onboarding and performance evaluations.

  • Provides oversight of ongoing projects.

  • Interfaces with university departments, funding sources, outside organizations and state, governments agencies.

  • Assesses program effectiveness and identifies areas of improvement.

  • Manages program documentation, data collection, and reporting.

  • Develops program goals and objectives.

  • Oversees the development and implementation of laboratory operational policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for management of IRB documentation, RedCap data management system and other interfacing systems.

  • Oversees study recruitment and referral systems, participant research orientation (e.g., scheduling, enrollment, and data collection processes) and treatment/intervention plans.

  • Field staff/participant questions regarding study protocol and objectives.

  • May serve as a back-up tobacco cessation counselor.

  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Department Preferences:



  • Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Social-Behavioral science or related field.

  • Preferred Experience: 5+ years in research program management, research coordination, or related roles. Strong track record in grant writing, data analysis, and team supervision


Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Will accept 48 months experience in lieu of BS Degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.



  • 48 months of program development, program management or related experience.

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations

  • Able to effectively evaluate project programs and produce comprehensive reports

  • Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively

  • Strong initiative to solve problems

  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
