Crafton Tull is seeking a Landscape Architect with 0-5 years' experience to assist with planning, urban design, and landscape architecture projects including, but not limited to, municipal comprehensive plans, bicycle and pedestrian master plans, corridor plans, campus master plans, site plans, and landscape plans. The candidate must be a creative, self-motivated problem solver with adept writing skills. A working knowledge of Rhino/Lumion/Enscape/Sketchup, Photoshop, In Design, ESRI GIS and AutoCAD is required. The minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture with an interest in urban planning. LANDSCAPE DESIGNER/PLANNER POSITION SUMMARY: Conducts research, prepares designs, produces plans and assists with drawings for public and private clients on projects of various scopes and scales.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Assists in preparation of plans, details and graphics, projections, reports, and progress company policy/procedures, regulatory guidelines, and professional standards.
  • Provides planning and/or landscape architectural services to other Crafton Tull offices.
  • Consults with client on in-house projects to determine requirements for new or renovation projects, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
  • Plans layout of projects, develops graphics for planning efforts, and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
  • Researches and prepares data for clients.
  • Assists the client in coordination with consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and vendors.
  • Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal departments.
  • Allocates resources to complete assigned projects.
  • Ensures visibility of the company through attendance at public meetings, participation in civic organizations, and participation in public service and charitable activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Professional degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited college or university with 0-5 years of working experience in planning, urban design or landscape architectural field required.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: none (LA license and/or AICP accredited are encouraged).


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebraic functions and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Rhino/Lumion/Enscape/Sketchup, Photoshop, In Design, ESRI GIS, AutoCAD, and MS Office software.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess valid driver license.
