Description:
The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Board certified/eligible in General Internal Medicine is required.
Teaching responsibilities may include precepting residents and interns throughout their General Medicine rotations. Candidates will also have the opportunity to participate in UME or GME educational programs.
Clinical responsibilities may include sessions providing direct patient care in our ambulatory site, Pennsylvania Hospital Wood Clinic. Clinical responsibilities may also include serving as an inpatient attending at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania or Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Providing after hours phone coverage may also be required.
Prior experience as faculty at other academic institutions in general medical practice at the Associate or Full Professor rank is required. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching with institutional awards, completion of a graduate program or professional certificate program, or significant institutional, regional or national leadership roles. Successful candidates will benefit from Penn's robust mentorship and faculty development programs and rich opportunities in quality/process improvement, informatics, medical education, and health care innovation. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per/year of active and high-quality teaching responsibilities. There will be an expectation of the ability of candidates to provide management and/or leadership. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
