Job Summary



This is an Essential Position




This job entails providing Integrated Pest Management practices to campus landscapes, turf and right of way areas (categories 6,7 and 10). The application of general use pesticides is a key function of this position. In addition, this position also performs a variety routine and emergency tasks on campus landscapes, trees, turf areas, hard scapes, athletic fields and more. Snow removal is required during the winter months. Since emergency responses are sometimes required, this is considered an "Essential" position.


Minimum Qualifications



  • 1 year experience in grounds care, landscape maintenance, pesticide applications or similar outdoor labor

  • Stable employment history; within the last 5 years

  • High school diploma, GED, or similar certificate

  • PA Dept of Agriculture Pesticide License or ability to obtain within 6 months with the following categories: Core, 6 (ornamentals/landscape), 7 (turf) and 10 (weed/right of way)

Preferred Qualifications



  • 3 years of experience in IPM pest management in landscape, turf or right-of-way

  • Possession of a PA Dept. of Agriculture Certified Applicator License

  • Prior work experience or formal education in the field of insecticides & herbicides, and knowledge of the safety precautions required to minimize hazards inherent in this field

The starting salary for this position is $35,306.00, based on the AFSCME CBA.
