Texas Biomed is searching for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our team. This integral member of the Finance team is responsible for the design and oversight of the annual operating and capital budgets, short and long-term financial forecasting and other ad hoc financial analysis needs. This position also serves as an internal consultant for other leaders at the Institute, providing financial reporting and analysis to facilitate data driven decision making and helping internal stakeholders to enhance their knowledge of financial drivers as well as potential risks and opportunities.


The Role:

  • Lead annual operating and capital budgets for Texas Biomed
  • Prepare annual and multi-year budgets/forecasts for Grant and Contract Revenues
  • Take data, understand it, process it, extract value from it, and communicate it visually / verbally to team members and management across the organization
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting
  • Share information with leaders at the Institute, offering insights and recommendations for efficiencies and financial improvement
  • Develop automated tools and reports to facilitate the budget and forecast process, analysis, and reporting
  • Lead in the implementation of new information technology systems to ensure functionality is leveraged to streamline analytical and reporting processes
  • Own the long-term financial projection model for the Institute and revise periodically as new information warrants
  • Conduct annual rate reviews with corresponding Core Directors/ Managers and recommend necessary changes ensuring fees are representative of true costs and in compliance with uniform guidance regulations
  • Complete ad hoc requests for reports, dashboards/key performance indicators, or analysis from all levels of the organization including senior leadership
  • Work closely with personnel in Finance and other departments to analyze business processes, as well as recommend and implement solutions

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis within a complex organization
  • Experience with non-profit organizations and federal grants/contracts preferred
  • Ability to leverage technology to extract and analyze data
  • Ability to generate financial reports and key performance indicators with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
  • Ability to identify and implement opportunities to streamline and achieve efficiencies
  • Ability to communicate with others to convey complex information effectively
  • Ability to organize time, prioritize deadlines and remain productive
