Under the direction of the Corporate Manager of Supply Chain Value Analysis, the Program Manager will monitor and maintain the day-to-day responsibilities listed as well as training responsibilities for the Product Specialists. The Program Manager of Value Analysis, Supply Chain serves as a liaison to all Mass General Brigham institutions. The position supports sound decision-making by appropriate groups and individuals by providing them with needed information, data, and analysis on the product selection process, service levels and practice issues they face.
The Program Manager of Value Analysis, Supply Chain will assist management in the review and evaluation of products as well as find opportunities to improve or maintain supply quality while reducing overall costs. The Program Manager of Value Analysis, Supply Chain will train the staff responsible for managing the process for medical surgical product recalls for Mass General Brigham. Responsibilities also includes working with the Product Specialists on the backorder and allocations processes. This position provides extensive support to the Corporate Manager of Value Analysis and by extension the Material Management Directors, Clinical Department Directors, Mass General Brigham Purchasing, Supply Chain Information Systems, Supply Chain Content Management and Conversion Teams, Supply Chain Accounts Payable, Supply Chain Business Operations, and onsite logistics.
This individual collaborates with Mass General Brigham institutions to research and analyze product advances as well as market conditions. They support positive vendor relationship management and performs other supply chain functions within Mass General Brigham.

Provide guidance and support to the Value Analysis team to ensure productivity levels are met and staff have the tools and resources needed.
Work with management to review and develop procedures to consistently improve operational efficiency.
Provide training of new staff utilizing orientation checklist. This also includes identifying areas where additional training may be needed as well as providing feedback to the management.
Meet with Value Analysis team on a regularly scheduled basis to obtain feedback, ideas, and suggestions. This includes collecting and presenting these ideas to management.
Assist in the process for investigation of new or alternative products/ services based on observations, product issues, excessive costs, requests from user groups, suppliers, or as assigned by the Corporate Manager of Value Analysis, Supply Chain. Responsible for adhering to the Materials Value Analysis Team (MVAT) process for adding new products to the system.
Ensure the implementation of products/services trials and evaluation with the goal of improving patient care as well as safety & comfort of clinical staff. while decreasing expenditures through the selection of the most effective and economical quality products or services. This entails consultation with necessary personnel (e.g., physicians, nurses, infection control, biomedical engineering) coordination with vendors to promote education of the former regarding proper use of product, and guidance of supply chain resources in product trial and implementation logistics. Evaluation tools also developed, provided, collected, and documented.
Function as a liaison between corporate and member institutions relative to vendor management.
Function as a liaison between the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and member institutions specific to action steps taken relative to product recalls and device corrections.
Promote product standardization by identifying opportunities for product improvements and cost reduction.
Build strong alliances with physicians, nurses, clinical staff, department heads, and others to effectively facilitate the product standardization, selection, utilization and contracting processes. Networking and teambuilding skills essential to accomplish goals and meet customer and team needs.
Oversee the collection and development of written summary/cost analysis and recommendations to assist decision-makers in determining strategies for products and supply selection and utilization activities. This would include collaboration with Mass General Brigham Supply Chain Analytics team to track financial impact of product/service selection.
Support the Value Analysis team and institutions with the implementation of approved product/service conversions through collaboration with their Materials Management staff, educational resources, suppliers, and user groups as needed.
Work with Value Analysis team to assist institutions with managing product issues with backorders, recalls, allocations, and product quality issues.
Provide feedback regarding the backorder order process to management for the purpose of furthering development.
Support the Value Analysis team in the identification of substitutes as needed, while working with Materials Management departments from member institutions on obtaining clinical approval when needed. This would include working with distributors to review and confirm accurate record keeping as it applies to the auto substitute and approved substitute lists.
Collaborate with member institutions as well as the Value Analysis Recall Coordinators to develop, monitor and improve the product recall reporting process.
Monitor the recall and backorder processes and provide additional support; including the identification of product alternatives when needed.
Support Mass General Brigham initiatives and strategies without losing focus of specific stakeholder needs.
Represent Mass General Brigham Supply Chain at the institutional committees.
Gather, research, analyze and present in an objective, non-biased "third party" manner.
Participate with all cost management activities and initiatives, when necessary.
Demonstrate strong analytical skills to perform "what if" analysis and to address the numerous issues and scenarios involved in proposed programs and processes.
Prepare and present timely information based upon customer requests or anticipated needs.
Provide necessary information and communication for Mass General Brigham contracts negotiation.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration required. Experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
5 years of experience in a progressively responsible role in a diverse and operationally complex healthcare environment required
