JOB DESCRIPTION



Wood is recruiting for a Material Verification Specialist to join the team in Houston.

This position offers a range of technical support and analysis of engineering documents. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Self-motivation and a proactive approach are essential for consideration. The role is based at a client office downtown and follows a hybrid work schedule.


Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.




RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Reviews and organizes engineering documentation for natural gas pipeline as-built construction. Data analyst must have the skill set to understand, analyze and document applicable technical records for transmission range pipe for specified locations along a pipeline system. Site understanding (compressor stations, meter stations, main line valve assemblies, etc.) is also a desired skill set but is not a primary consideration.



  • Performs comparative analysis of related records by clearly and concisely identifying potential data anomalies and resolving critical data element discrepancies.



  • Correlates identified technical documents (bill of materials, purchase orders, mill test reports, hydrostatic test reports, etc.) against baseline GIS data and understand any gaps that may exist between the two datasets.



  • Assists in the ongoing development and execution of quality assurance/quality control protocols.



  • Follows documented, standard work processes, document results, updates records per protocol and published business rules and communicates progress/issues to business unit leads.






QUALIFICATIONS



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, or related field or equal experience

  • Knowledgeable in ArcGIS Server, Portal, and ArcGIS Online

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Computer literate with excellent organizational skills

  • Skilled in the acquisition of publicly available GIS data

  • Knowledgeable in coordinate systems and projections

  • Ability to speak, read and write in English

  • Intermediate Computer skills: Fluent in Microsoft Office products, uses Microsoft office suite to perform a variety of tasks
