Job Description:

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):


  • * Promote novel/disruptive Automated NGS Library Preparation Platform with key customers in relevant Academic & Industry Laboratories


    * Develop sales and marketing strategies to increase surface area, maximize revenue and gain exponential exposure for new platform


    * Consult, plan and execute technical evaluations/demonstrations


    * Conduct customer-facing technical seminars/data reviews


    * Report customer feedback in routine business reviews with key internal stakeholders


    * Meet or exceed territory sales targets for products and assigned business objectives


    * Manage Sales Distribution Channel


    * Recognize market trends and gain competitive intelligence


    * Effective use of seminars, tradeshows as lead generators and education opportunities


    * Maintain a strong customer focus through consultative selling and business development


    * Enhance customer satisfaction by building trust and strong relationships


    * Daily use of CRM (salesforce.com) database to document customer interactions, increase sales effectiveness and forecast accuracy


    * Partner with application scientist team for customer support and product/applications knowledge.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Hands-on experience with NGS workflows and applications in Academic and/or Industry R&D environments

  • Experience working with Next Generation Sequencing Chemistries

  • Ability to present technical/scientific information in a Seminar format

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Ability and eagerness to travel regionally

  • Minimum B.S. in Life Sciences (biology, molecular biology preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:


  • M.S. or Ph.D in Life Sciences (biology, molecular biology preferred)

  • 3-5+ years of successful capital equipment sales experience in the Life Science market

  • Experience with Automation & Liquid Handling Platforms

  • Experience managing distribution channels

  • Results-driven with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to think strategically, articulate a shared vision and defend strategic insights.

  • Strong business acumen, with exceptional negotiation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly effective time management skills

  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on solutions-oriented sales

  • Proven ability to build a sales pipeline, manage sales process, and effectively close orders

  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team

  • Approximately 80% travel
