Your Role:
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer I executes EHS support services under the direction of the EHS Manager for the Temecula and Visalia sites including but not limited to EHS training, compliance program completion and related filings, permit filing, OSHA reporting and filing, site auditing, deviation responses, recordkeeping, root cause investigations and risk assessments; and development of Injury and Illness Prevention Programs.
Assist in meeting new or revised EHS requirements as defined by the EHS Manager.
Assist in the collection of data to support all required OSHA and environmental reports.
Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO14001 and ISO45001 Certification.
Maintain and drive safety culture throughout sites.
Support EHS systems and ensure appropriate behaviors
Ensure timely completion of work
Ensure that proper EHS training has taken place
Inform management of EHS deviations
Properly escalate risks with respect to people, products, and processes
Support Operational Excellence projects
Ensure standard and consistent EHS methods are utilized
Provide EHS support to Manufacturing and R&D for products that require design for development to ensure EHS aspects are incorporated
SupportEHS programs in conjunction with Operations, Distribution, R&D, and other site functions
EHS compliance programs and appropriate agency filings completed timely as defined by EHS Manager
Address and resolve EHS related issues
Collaborate with impacted groups to ensure timely project completion related to EHS aspects
Collaborate with site personnel to ensure a safe work environment
Prompt interaction with Plant Management and HR to address EHS related employee issues
Support BeSafe observations program
Interpreting EHS audit results and timely completion of corrective actions
Conduct appropriate EHS audits
EHS project completion
Develop new EHS concepts, techniques and standards
Ensure alignment of EHS solutions with organizational objectives
Implement workplace injury/illness prevention programs (IIPP) which includes health and safety procedures, incident investigation, and training.
Participate/Lead Employee EHS Committee(s) and site management team
Develop and implement EHS training for all employees
Maintain and drive safety culture throughout sites
Contribute to development of new EHS concepts, techniques, and standards
Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet new or revised EHS requirements
Participate in activities associate with job hazard analysis, industrial hygiene monitoring, hazardous waste identification, collection and disposal, wastewater treatment, spill control and emergency planning, contractor safety, and safety engineering reviews.
Conduct root cause investigations

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or other EHS discipline
OR
High School Diploma or GED
1+ years of experience in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies
Superior organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and multiple locations
Develop solutions to complex problems with ingenuity and innovation
Communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with outside contacts
Conduct Job Hazard Analyses and manage corrective actions
Complete environmental permitting requirements
Six Sigma Blue Belt certification (or higher) or equivalent
1+ years of experience with ISO14001, environmental regulations, chemical safety, ergonomics, fall protection, respiratory protection, lab safety, DOT and IATA regulations, Bloodborne Pathogens, and biosafety practices
1+ years of experience with behavior-based safety programs
Pay Range for this position - $31.00 - $47.00/Hour
