Position Overview:



As a Senior Data Governance & Management Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data assets across the organization. In this role, you will help define and implement an enterprise-wide data governance strategy, including the development of policies, standards, and best practices to improve data quality and ensure compliance.


This is an in-office role located at our Downtown Houston headquarters, reporting directly to the Manager of Data Governance & Management within the Data Strategy & Management Team.



Responsibilities:



  • Aide in defining and maintaining data governance frameworks, principles, policies, and procedures


  • Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, and data consumers to establish data governance roles and responsibilities


  • Conduct data compliance assessments and audits, and implement data governance improvement plans


  • Monitor and report on data governance metrics and KPIs


  • Identify, report and resolve data issues and risks, and escalate them as needed


  • Provide guidance and support for data governance initiatives and projects


  • Develop and maintain data governance documentation and training materials


  • Stay updated on data governance best practices and industry standards





Experience and Qualifications:




Required Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, or a related field.


  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data quality, or data governance roles.


  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau.


  • Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and the associated risks related to data.


  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., DMBOK, ADM).


  • Experience with data quality and governance tools/platforms like Informatica, Collibra, Alation, BigID, Purview, etc.


  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.


  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-oriented mindset.





Preferred Education and Experience:



  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CIA, DGSP, CDP, CDS, IGP) are highly desirable.


  • Experience leveraging APIs and scripting for integration and automation


  • Able to effectively draft governance documentation and manage assigned initiatives


  • Experience in Microsoft Suite products i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
