Professional development/ ongoing professional learning: Engage in ongoing professional learning. This includes remaining current in your discipline and evidence-based practices for culturally response, inclusive, and anti-racist pedagogies.Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree (or higher) in English or closely related field from an institution with regional accreditation or its international equivalent. This could include Master's in Fine Arts (MFA), Rhetoric and Composition, Literature, or TESOL.
Pending degrees must be completed by September 2025 and verified by a letter from the granting institution.
Desired Qualifications: We desire a candidate with one or more of the following qualifications. We expect the successful candidate to have only some of these qualifications. If these are not evident in your resume, be sure to discuss them in your cover letter:
Training in and/or experience teaching writing courses, composition and rhetoric, and technical writing;
Demonstrated experience working with students from a diversity of backgrounds;
Experience working with multilingual learners.

ABOUT THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT:
The English Department is a collaborative group of faculty who implement best practices in teaching and learning. The department offers a range of courses for students who are interested in pursuing varied bachelor's degrees at transfer institutions, as well as students in professional/technical programs, and those earning distribution and continuing education credits. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
A standard 170-day contract is written annually for the period of September to June. This position is exempt from the overtime pay requirements of The Fair Labor Standards Act.
