Job Description:

This position reports to Power Products Industrialization Department and is responsible for leading industrialization projects as part of the Schneider Electric Offer Life Cycle Management Process with specific emphasis on digital connectedness in our equipment offers. The individual leads projects through the milestones, from Epic "Create" to Epic "Done" Open events, in order to achieve the deliverables defined at the beginning of the project on time and within project cost and quality objectives.

SCOPE AND SIZE

• This position is for an Offer Industrialization Leader, who will report to the Chapter Leader inside the Power Products Industrialization Department.

• Position will have varying project responsibility for new product development projects involving electro-mechanical sub-assemblies and the integration of digital components and systems covering New Energy and Transactional League, including notably circuit breakers and safety switches.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Leads Industrialization activities in a non-supervisory role on a cross functional team in product or process development.

• Includes new product development projects throughout the Offer Life Cycle Management process.

• Act as Project Manager for Industrialization activities responsible for timely and effective deliverables.

• Forecast labor and project cost necessary to industrialize new products, utilizing the expertise of Industrialization team.

• Develop Industrial solutions in compliance with the Schneider Production System (SPS) lean principles.

• Works with cross functional team members as part of a global new product development following lean & agile fundamentals.

• Coordinates with internal and external resources to ensure best available processes are utilized for the given product and market specifications.

• Develops and implements Industrial processes for new and/or evolving products which conform to safety standards and lean principles. Industrial processes could include sheet metal fabrication, molding, stamping, assembly, material planning/control, order processing.

• Facilitates and or performs tasks regarding the specific INDUS areas including:

o Estimates and reports on product costs, capex and manufacturing Industrial expenses.

o Performs material planning analysis and implements strategies.

o Performs make vs buy decisions on components/products.

o Ensures product records are structured to support effective control of the information.

o DFA/DFM of components and assemblies.

o Assembly Line development including manufacturing execution systems and traceability.

o Industrial quality.

• Maintains current knowledge of digital technologies, manufacturing processes and equipment technologies and analyzes these technologies as related to applicability for use in the manufacturing facility.

• Utilize continuous improvement methodology to improve internal industrial processes.

EDUCATION - MINIMUM REQUIRED

• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Technical degree

EXPERIENCE - MINIMUM REQUIRED

• 5+ years experience in manufacturing engineering in a production environment, and/or manufacturing supervision.

• 5+ years in a new product development environment, or related stage gate process, actively developing new industrial processes (preferred).

• Excellent understanding of digital technologies in manufacturing including lean digitization systems, smart tools, ERP, and manufacturing execution systems.

• Exposure to a broad range of sub and final assembly processes, and/or component fabrication processes.

• Basic understanding of plastic parts and sheet metal fabrication processes, electronic product assembly and test (preferred).

• Lean Expert certification or demonstrated competence in Lean Manufacturing (preferred).

• Six Sigma Green Belt or demonstrated competence in Quality Engineering skills (preferred).

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal) are mandatory.

• Proven ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural, multi-national virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, mfg operations, and others).

• Proven ability to influence and convince through negotiation.

• Open mindedness concerning manufacturing and industrializing in emerging economies, and ability to help research and validate global supply chain strategies.

• Self motivated to work in a semi-autonomous environment and be accountable for deliverables on schedule and on budget at the right quality level.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

• Development of industrial project schedules that meet overall project objectives, conformance to the plan with clear analysis of changes to the plan.

• Clear understanding of and conformance to industrial project cost budgets (CAPEX and OPEX) to meet business and project objectives, reliable forecasting, and analysis of changes.

• Efficient planning & forecasting of industrial skills resources to be employed during the project(s) that meet overall project objectives of quality, cost, and schedule.

• Strong partnership with Industrial Quality to maximize the product & process quality, and with Project Quality to ensure conformance to the OLM process while maximizing productivity of project resources (CAPEX, OPEX, and project labor).

TRAVEL

• 25% travel could be required including some international travel (varies by project assignment).
