INIT Innovations in Transportation (INIT) is seeking a high-energy, self-starter capable of managing the day-to-day operations of one of our larger fare collection systems. We are looking for someone that will apply operational methodologies, who is able to work with technical systems, work in partnership with the customer and internal teams located across the organization in varying time zones.


As a Technical Operations Manager you will drive operational alignment to ensure the system sustains all performance-based metrics. This role works extensively with personnel varying from business managers, technical staff, and maintenance teams both internal and external. The successful candidate will have project management and technical skills, as well as excellent communication methodology including verbal and written.


The position will be based in Atlanta, GA and will support the operation of the MARTA fare collection system and assist with other projects in North America as needed.


GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 



  • Be the expert of your assigned operational fare collection systems, further defined below.

  • Review and perform impact assessments for any planned system changes.

  • Enable results through effective management of business processes.

  • Communicate with subcontractors and engineering resources in the US and Germany to ensure the resolution of fare collection system i

  • Participate in customer and internal meetings, track actions items, follow-ups, and report minutes as required.

  • Review monthly KPI reports with customer and discuss opportunity for i

  • This job requires periodic travel to our operational headquarters in Chesapeake, VA, and global headquarters in Karlsruhe, Germany.

  • Be the local expert on the MARTA fare collection system.

  • Work across INIT to ensure the success of the MARTA operations.

  • This job requires travel locally around the Atlanta area on a regular basis as part of a standard workday.

  • Supervise staff and subcontractors that may be assigned to you, ensuring employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Conduct and analyze performance tests and document processes.

  • In conjunction with the operations team, maintain proper configuration management processes for all customer deliverables.

  • Work in conjunction with the operations and support teams to provide onsite client support for INIT's software, hardware, and services.

  • Work with the client to clarify and prioritize complex technical issues. Coordinate solutions with the engineering teams across INIT. Must be able to explain methods and concepts clearly.

  • Assist in the preparation of solution designs, test plans, test scripts, technical manuals, training material, reports, and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Confident in presenting complex facts (statistical, technical, legal, process-related) in front of management groups.

  • Able and flexible to prioritize and adjust workload as the role requires or priorities shift.

  • Must have, or be able to get, valid passport and be able to travel international.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 



  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • ITIL knowledge – certification preferred.

  • Direct work experience in IT, engineering, and/or project management.

  • Experience in Public Transit preferred but not required.

  • Competent in critical thinking, problem solving, planning, organizing, decision making, communication, teamwork, and conflict management.

  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and a quick learner.
