Join Lonza AG as a Quality Control Analyst- Microbiology in Houston, TX, and become a part of our elite team dedicated to life sciences innovation. This role supports the Quality Control, Microbiology Safety Team, conducting a range of vital tests to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficacy in our products.
Conduct bioburden, microbial enumeration, endotoxin, and sterility testing, among other crucial assays.
Perform USP <61>, USP <71>, USP <63>, and USP <85> assays or validated alternatives.
Complete growth promotion testing on liquid and agar media for lot release and APS & AMT growth promotions.
Apply the WinKQCL platform for BET (endotoxin) testing.
Supervise rapid sterility testing using the BacT/Alert platform.
Conduct microbial identification using ViTek software.
Perform microbiological assays for media, raw materials, process intermediates, and final drug product lot release.
Assist with laboratory maintenance, inventory management, and equipment upkeep.
Support lab investigations, system suitability failures, OOS excursions, and deviations.
Participate in change control actions, including revising procedures and drafting qualification reports.
Maintain compliance with all required training.
Perform other laboratory duties as assigned.
Associate degree in Life Science or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s in Microbiology or Bacteriology or equivalent experience preferred.
Confirmed knowledge in Quality Control Microbiology and cGMP environments.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience in Bioburden, Growth Promotion, Endotoxin testing, Microorganism Identification, or Sterility Testing is a plus.
Demonstrated expertise in general laboratory skills, microbiological assays, and aseptic test methods.
Familiarity with WinKQCL, LIMS, and TrackWise is advantageous.
Ability to propose ideas during problem-solving, root cause analysis, and process improvement events.
Conscientious excellent teammate capable of representing the department effectively.
Optimistic attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
