Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for the development and technical management of digital applications in the iHarbor portfolio. Core responsibilities involve a blend of technical expertise and leadership, software developer management, and software release planning, timeline management, and stakeholder management. Serve as primary point of contact for the delivery of assigned digital assets. Work is performed under limited supervision. Direct report to the Manager, Software Development & Engineering.
Primary Responsibilities
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed.
• Oversee the technical aspects of the project/product, aligning and implementing the technology stack, architecture, and overall design to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Lead and mentor the software development team (for individual products or technologies) to ensure high-quality code, including conducting code reviews, enforcing coding standards, and ensuring timely delivery of software features and bug fixes.
• Lead the Agile development process, which includes planning and managing sprints, defining tasks, setting priorities, ensuring adherence to timelines, and facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Serve as a bridge between the technical team and other stakeholders (e.g., product managers, designers, and business leaders, etc.) to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and technical constraints.
• Develop and maintain proficiency in the clinical or operational context of the software technology; understand and generate insights into business requirements for software technologies.
• Maintain proficiency regarding differentiators, benefits, and competitive advantages of the software product; maintain awareness of competitor landscape.
• Translate business requirements for the software product into technical tickets and deliverables.
• Provide forward thinking technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends and best practices.
• Proactively resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks; encourage innovation and the adoption of best practices and new technologies to improve the product and development process.
• Ensure comprehensive technical documentation and adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Manager, Software Development & Engineering to ensure technical implementations are standardized across the iHarbor portfolio.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, problem solving, innovation, continuous learning, and a one team mindset.
• Conduct one-on-ones with direct reports; coach and train development team through paired programming exercises, detailed code reviews with follow-ups, and code-writing tasks.
• Mentor developers in both technical and soft skills to craft a team of highly competent, consistent, thoughtful, and customer-centric technology experts.
• Perform supervisory functions including hiring, discipline, training and development, and prepare performance reviews in accordance with UMMS policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Education & Experience - Required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 3 + years of cloud experience with digital technologies.
• 7 + years' experience in roles involving data engineering functions.
• 7 + years of experience with direct customer interaction to ensure customer's needs are prioritized, scoped for development and finally met by appropriate development.
• 5 + years' experience with at least two of the following: PostgreS, EPIC Clarity, Oracle, Python, SQL.
• 5 + years' experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Git.
• 5 + years' experience with databases, data stacks, integration patterns, concepts, and integration platforms.
• 3 + years' experience managing the delivery of software projects, managing stakeholders and leading software development and integration teams.
Education & Experience - Preferred
• Certifications such as MS Azure Certified Solutions Architect/ any certification from Epic (Clarity, Caboodle, Cogito).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Possess a can-do attitude coupled with strong belief and temperament to bring forth positive outcomes for both UMMS and potential clients of iHarbor by innovative design and delivery of software platforms and digital assets.
• Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Working knowledge of software development including design patterns, data structures and test-driven development.
• Possess an entrepreneurial attitude and promote experimentation.
• Ability to work on complex projects with tight deadlines and coordinate multiple coordinating elements of the product and stakeholder expectations.
• Strong experience with and knowledge of scripting services.
• Proven ability to perform proof of concepts and anticipate bottlenecks to make proactive delivery estimates.
• Proven ability and desire to learn new technologies and develop solutions using a variety of integration technologies, patterns and approaches.
• Ability to identify and provide supportive technical mentorship to team members to help them develop into technically competent and well-rounded developers.
• Ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Advanced analytical, conceptual thinking, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to engage, produce, and execute on tasks with a sense of urgency and ownership.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $60.76-$74.62
