Hypertherm Associates is looking for a new Off-Shift Manufacturing Leader to join our 100% Associate-Owned team!
Hours: Flexible; ~ 8:00pm - 4:00am
As an Off-Shift Manufacturing Leader, you are responsible for creating plan for labor and equipment while maintaining high standards for performance and continuous improvement to meet our customers' expectations for quality, delivery, performance, and value at the lowest possible cost. You will work in conjunction with Manufacturing Leaders and support staff to ensure continuity of priorities and procedures throughout all shifts. This position will have supervisory responsibility for Front Line Leaders and Maintenance personnel on the off shifts.

People Leadership: Provide operational leadership for the Business Team on the Off Shifts by translating the overall company objectives into department activities that the overall Business Team must perform to be successful, including associate selection, training, coaching, development, conflict resolution, planning, performance management/accountability and recognition. Fosters a positive climate and safe working environment that promotes associate well-being and team effectiveness across the organization for improved business results.
Leader Development: Incorporate team objectives, SMART goals, and development opportunities into leader personal plans. Review reflections and personal plans written by off-shift leaders to ensure the effectiveness of feedback and commitment to associate development. Collaborate with area Manufacturing Leaders and HR generalist(s) to ensure consistency in development, performance accountability and standards.
Mentorship: Provide mentorship as needed all off-shift production leaders. Create forums for leaders to share experiences, knowledge, and best practices. Conduct 1:1 discussions with associates as needed to review progress, provide guidance and feedback, establish priorities, and maintain open lines of communication to cultivate trust. Provide a monthly summary of progress against leadership development objectives, situational leadership, and team climate.
New Hire Onboarding: As the liaison between Hypertherm Technical Training Institute and Operations, coordinate with Manufacturing Leaders on all Machine Operator hires. Facilitates placement of all new associates and monitor progress. Work with Front Line Leaders, identify and address gaps in training as well as incorporate new content to improve the assimilation of new associates into the organization (technical training and/or cultural adaptation).
Continuous Improvement: Leads continuous improvement strategy for the manufacturing teams via a structured approach that engages the team and helps them learn key CI skills.
Safety: Organize and collaborate with safety champs and production leadership to improve safety and maintain a healthy working environment. Create a culture of safety and hold associates accountable for safe working practices. Works with engineers on safety incident resolution, proactively mitigates safety concerns, and contributes to EHS policy.
New Product Development: Effectively work with area Manufacturing Leaders and engineering to review and provide feedback on prototype runs in production 24/5.
Support for Operations: Translate the overall company objectives into a production plan for the team in coordination with area Manufacturing Leaders. Set an example in promptness, attendance, and commitment to the success of the team by modeling visibility, being present and available to Front Line Leaders in their quest to achieve their production targets. Work with Front Line Leaders to develop the "game plan" for achieving production targets for the week/month and assist area Manufacturing Leaders in the successful execution of the Business Team's operating plan.
Education/Experience:
