We are seeking a Building Automation Technician II to support our Facilities team performing system upgrades and routine maintenance utilizing skills to diagnose anomalies, make repairs, alterations and/or replace worn or defective parts within the building automation systems (BAS) equipment. The role requires rotational on-call schedules including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.


The Role:

· Independently diagnose and repair complex electronic control system malfunctions.

· Must be able to integrate new panels into an existing Desigo CC platform.

· Execute panel preventive maintenance and documentation

· Keep supervisor informed of service provided, outstanding issues, and recommended system enhancements/upgrades needed, and/or repairs.

· Commission new direct digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines. Document commissioning details and communicate deficiencies and progress.

· Network technologies: Perform data backups from data servers and create automated backup procedures. Troubleshoot and resolve inconsistencies in functions or sequences of operations. Configure PC workstations and user interfaces. Confirm proper network performance.

· Operational testing, verification, and acceptance: Run routine reports to review system operations. Perform final inspections, testing, and customer acceptance. Complete and submit routine reports. Provide plans and control system documents for as-built drawings.

· Project site communication and coordination: Coordinate with trade contractors to perform startup services.

· Ability to validate designed equipment performance variables against stringent biocontainment requirements

· Create new points and alarms from sensors based on equipment/system requirements.

· Read and write programming for Siemens and WebCTRL systems.

· Integrate third-party systems with existing BAS system

· Prepare a quarterly BAU server backup.

· Must be able to create new graphics pages on Desigo CC and associate values to different images.


Our Ideal Candidate:

· High school diploma or GED

· Requires at least 3 years building automation and controls experience and 3 years of experience programming, commissioning, running system diagnostics, and/or repairing building automation (BAS) / building management (BMS) systems

· Formal Siemens, ALCS, Johnson Controls or other similar automation training is preferred

· Strong electrical background is preferred with ability to run conduit/wiring and make terminations

· Possess PC/software skills. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

· Demonstrated use of reading, understanding, and interpreting design and construction documents

· Experience in the integration of low-voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols, such as BACNet, N2, Modbus, etc.
