Perform routine technical tasks and simple laboratory procedures to support the work of ongoing research projects. Provide technical and non-technical support. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
35% - Essential - Contribute to ongoing research projects in the lab involving live-cell imaging and western blotting. Includes generating lysates, running electrophoresis and transfer, imagine, and analysis. Cell culture for generating samples for both included. Operation of both the In Cell Analyzer and Cytation 5, along with the generating training materials for all.
35% - Essential - Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain lab organization and implement new systems to ensure lab functions in an organized manner. This will include the cold storage, as well as dry storage. Google sheets to be reconciled and maintained.
30% - Essential - Assist with ensuring that all required personal protective equipment is used and best lab safety practices are followed by undergraduate students. No food, long pants, and proper attire will be enforced and communicated.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: A high school diploma and work experience in a related health care setting or in a clinical or research laboratory setting; or 12 semester hours of academic training in biology and/or chemistry; or registration as a Certified Laboratory Assistant by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or an equivalent registry; or successful completion of a formal program of instruction for laboratory assistants at a hospital or academic institution.
Work Experience: 0+ years; Knowledge of laboratory facilities, methods, equipment and materials.

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in a related medical or scientific discipline.
