We have an opportunity available for a Business Development Manager to work within our Sales Team. The Business Development Manager is a new business development (Hunting) position within the sales organization. The purpose of this position is to acquire new contracts and purchasing agreements within the business types that TAAKT aligns well with a focus of emerging restaurant chains throughout the US. The position is focused on proactive and professional selling at the highest level of customer contacts (executive level) and is results oriented.
This role will utilize a proven-effective discovery-based professional sales process that includes client research and qualification, discovery meetings, development of coaches and ultimately, professional presentations with the goal of securing customer agreements. The position will be responsible for understanding company profit expectations and building contracts that are both enticing to the client and meet company profit requirements.
In addition to winning new business agreements, the role will collaborate with the Food Service Chain Account Managers to ensure a smooth transition and effective onboarding process during the handoff period to ensure a seamless customer experience.
What you will do:
Develop a strong understanding of our smallwares offering
Able to demonstrate strategic planning when pursuing new customers
Strong relationship building talent
Collaborate with various levels of the sales organization to help determine viable targets
Master the TAKKT / Impax sales process (Discovery/Connection/Present)
Personal research to fine tune primary targets – target list to be shared with leadership
Research targets clients using POSI formula (Position, Objectives, Strategies, Issues)
Conduct professional discovery meetings (to expand target knowledge) with contracts throughout the client organization,
including internally and with vendor contacts
Develop coaching network within target organization, (contacts who want to see you succeed)
Client fit-analysis: Share learnings from discovery with leadership, and make recommendations regarding the potential fit of the target client
Build business-fit presentations using TUFA (Them, Us, Fit, Action)
Professionally present business fit presentations to target clients with recommended next steps including moving forward with an agreement. These presentations may be in person or digital.
Collaborate with leadership to build customer agreements that are mutually beneficial to both customer and organization that also clearly define services included and customer commitment to the partnership
Collaborate with Chain Account Managers during discovery and presentation process in order to ensure effective handoffs and onboarding of new customers
Exceed goal for targeted agreements attained, incremental revenue, and net/net margin
Document all activities within Salesforce
Up to 50% travel

What we need:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years proactive professional selling experience
Proficient in the use of Salesforce required
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Demonstrated track record of acquiring new incremental business in BTB environment
Solid financial acumen skills
Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Solid presentation skills
Ability to build a plan for target acquisition and work the plan with minimal supervision
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to effectively collaborate and delegate work where appropriate
