About the job



Global Trade Compliance is accountable for ensuring that Alfa Laval Inc. complies with the applicable customs regulations globally. This responsibility includes oversight and improvement of processes for customs filings, HTS alignment in all our internal systems, Foreign Trade Zones, preferential trade agreements, and supply. Involves direct contact and coordination with personnel in our international locations. This is a hybrid position with 25% travel.

  • Continue to work with and build a network of regional experts who can address AL Global compliance needs.

  • Establish global practices in compliance with global regulations and Alfa Laval's Group Policy on Export Control

  • Maintain all company import procedures, systems and the AL Customs Compliance Manual.

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the trade compliance team.

  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve all company export procedures, systems and the AL Export Compliance Manual




What you know:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Licensed US Customs Broker

  • Minimum 5 years' experience with import/export activities, USHTS and broker processes

  • Extensive knowledge of US Import, FTZ and Export policies and procedures

  • Understanding of US Customs CFR, EAR and HTS

  • Skilled in developing audit procedures to ensure comprehensive program compliance reviews

  • Ability to develop short- and long-range project planning, and effectively communicate information to diverse internal working groups

  • Able to work collaboratively with business leaders, government officials and carriers.

  • Strong organizational, time management and computer skills

Type and Length of Experience:


  • 3-5 years of experience from export company and/or freight forwarding industry - preferably within international logistics and transportation.

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The overall salary range for this role is typically $85,000 - $115,000 base + bonus.
