Kleinfelder's Hunt Valley, MD office is seeking a Senior Professional .
Directs technical programs and projects of varying size, with overall program/project responsibilities.
Identifies and defines scope, techniques and prices for project proposals for the delivery of projects/programs at the targeted price. May supervise or manage assigned staff. Works independently, using knowledge of industry and/or professional guidelines and protocols to accomplish goals and objectives and solve problems of diverse scope.
Job Responsibilities:
Follows Kleinfelder policies and procedures for project proposing and delivery of projects/programs
Effectively uses Kleinfelder workflows and processes to secure project resources, complete proposals, develop contracts, and maintain project records
Works effectively with project support staff to monitor and control project to achieve quality target metrics for all projects.
Mentors and coaches project team members and provides constructive feedback on team member performance.
Executes projects to meet or exceed client expectations while meeting industry standard of care.
Works with client organization staff and CAM to identify, develop, and propose on future work assignments.
May, or may not, be asked to be a Team Leader. A Team Leader will manage direct reports consisting of architects, scientists and/or engineers which may or may not be directly working on their projects. If managing a team, will assist team members in resource sharing efforts, provide LPS stewardship, facilitate collaboration with markets and KGTN, and provide quarterly and annual performance reviews seeking input from others, as necessary. If managing project managers, will coordinate with RDM to monitor project management performance and provide mentoring and career guidance related to project management.

Develops achievable and detailed schedules and works with project team to adhere to schedules and deadlines.

Coordinate with project team for additional resources when needed and uses appropriate leverage.
Managing Client Relationships
Effectively identifies out-of-scope items and eliminates 'scope creep' and/or secures amendments/change orders for additional services.
Effectively communicates and coordinates with client and project stakeholders to keep project on budget and schedule.
Works closely with clients, CAMs and others to identify new or add-on project opportunities.
Meets or exceeds client and stakeholder schedules and deadlines.
Health & Safety
Demonstrates understanding and commitment to risk assessment and the Health and Safety planning hierarchy by conducting risk reviews for high-hazard work at the proposal stage, and budgeting for Health and Safety for each project in their portfolios.
Demonstrates leadership in conducting Management Site Visits and LPOs, providing recognition, coaching and mentoring junior staff for effective project safety management, etc.
Demonstrates commitment to vetting and managing subcontractors for safety success.
Education:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Architecture, or related technical field required. Master's degree desired.
Experience: 8 - 9 years of related experience, 5 - 6 years project management experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required. 3 - 4 years supervisory/management experience required.
Certification/Registration: Certifications or registrations as mandated by profession. Other technical certifications shall be secured, as appropriate. Participation in professional organizations to develop effective leadership.
Other Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Project Manager web page required. Knowledge of designated IS systems and database preferred.
