Construction Specialist Leader - Pittsburgh Region
Urban Engineers, Inc. is seeking qualified individuals in the Pittsburgh Region to join the Construction Services Department as our Construction Specialist Leader. This position will provide key technical support with estimating, constructability, scheduling, and value engineering for heavy highway & transit design and construction projects. Lead efforts to grow our Construction Services practice, including construction inspection, in the Pittsburgh Region and beyond.
Responsibilities
Provide detailed constructability, estimating, and scheduling support related to constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, change order review, programmatic estimates, risk assessments and project control services.
Develop and/or review cost estimates and CPM schedules for clients during any stage of design development - additionally, work within our highway, bridge, marine, rail and transit departments in the same capacity as necessary.
Support the Practice Leader in the management of constructability and value engineering reviews as it relates to projects involving design and construction, conducting quality control reviews, and participating in lead roles in business development including proposal preparation and interviews for clients in PA and beyond.
Maintain proper documentation for all estimates, schedules, and constructability reviews.
Present deliverables to internal and external clients.
Update and maintain database and computer based office libraries.
Manage & Interface with various inspection staff, utility companies, railroad, and various government agencies.
Provide proactive communication with the contractor, designer, and client to progress the project in a manner that meets the client's project goals.
Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/ Construction Management or related field is required.
10 to 15 years of experience in contracting and construction management related to highway, bridge, marine, transit, rail, etc.
PE license is required.
Familiar with estimating and scheduling software.
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent oral, written, communication and organizational skills.
