The Student Success Coordinator (Coordinator) serves as a member of The Chicago School's Student Success team. Founded in 1979, The Chicago School is an independent, non-profit institution with a dynamic student body and a professionally accomplished faculty.



The Coordinator assists with administering all Student Success programs in pursuit of the team's goal of promoting student persistence and success. The Coordinator maintains collaborative, professional relationships with constituents across the institution and supports all members of the Student Success team. The Coordinator must exercise a high degree of responsibility and show sharp attention to detail in their work.



This is a remote position open to anyone with authorization to work in and who lives in the United States.



Responsibilities



· Receive, evaluate, and process various requests (policy exception, student complaints, student emergency grants, etc.) from current and former students with high attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and in compliance with school policies and procedures.


· Oversee department operations for the Office of the Dean including being responsible for monitoring and maintaining communications sent to the Office of the Dean from community members and outside entities.


· Triage student issues and concerns and provide students with timely, accurate, and caring guidance and support.


· Provide administrative support to committees chaired by the Dean and other department staff including but not limited to the Academic Standards Advisory Committee, First Gen Student Success Committee, and Student Conduct faculty leadership.


· Foster a positive and inclusive work environment for student employees through hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating to promote teamwork, collaboration, and professional development.


· Retrieve and analyze data related to overall department effectiveness and report findings.


· Support special initiatives and programs in practice areas including but not limited to global engagement, disability services, student life, and Title IX.


· Serve on university-wide committees and work groups, as assigned.


· Perform other duties as assigned.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



· Evidence of culturally competent practice and demonstrated ability to serve the needs of diverse students, especially those holding historically marginalized identities.


· Ability to juggle multiple competing demands and set priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining superb attention to detail.


· Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as part of a diverse team, always with flexibility, enthusiasm and determination.


· Ability to deploy excellent communication and interpersonal skills with varied audiences.


· Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.


· Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends.


· One to two years of work experience in higher education student affairs or similar.


· Earned bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
