Job Description:

The Department of Psychology at Binghamton University is in an active growth phase intended to expand the scope and impact of the research, teaching, service, and outreach. Toward that end, we are seeking exceptional neuroscience candidates as part of an ongoing initiative to expand research expertise at the intersection of environmental stressors and neurodevelopment/maturation; appointment will be within our Behavioral Neuroscience area. Individuals whose research examines prenatal and/or early-life environmental stressors on neurobiological mechanisms using a lifespan approach (focusing on early, middle, and/or later life) are especially encouraged to apply. Our goal is to further develop multidisciplinary teams of scientists with complementary skill sets who can work collaboratively to capitalize on existing faculty strengths, with a goal being to generate additional extramural funding and publish high-impact research with translational implications.

The Department of Psychology is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive teaching, research, and working environment. Applicants who share this goal and who are members of underrepresented groups, women, veterans, and/or persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Binghamton is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.

Requirements:

Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong track record of extramural funding in Behavioral Neuroscience or related disciplines. Specific scientific approaches are open but will be expected to reflect the current state-of-the-science. Scientists with a demonstrated history of multidisciplinary collaboration and success will be reviewed most favorably. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or cognate field by the date of appointment.
