The Manager of the Repair Center is responsible for ensuring the successful execution and high performance of tasks and objectives assigned to the Americas Repair Center. This encompasses all aspects of daily operations at the repair center, necessary to support our service and sales organizations. Activities include managing LC IQOQ tracking, distribution, and repair, hosting field support activities like instrument staging, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective completion and release of Service-Certified inventory and reclaimed parts. The Manager will collaborate closely with both on-site and remote warehouse, supply chain, and logistics staff to maintain smooth operations at the Repair Center and support revenue-generating opportunities.



This position is part of the Service Organization and will be located onsite in Coppell, TX.





In this role, you will have the opportunity to:



  • Generate cost savings for the Service Organization by independently processing instruments for Service Certification resale and converting non-resale instruments into reusable parts stock.

  • Process returns, providing troubleshooting, repair, full failure analysis, and reporting. Handle challenging diagnoses and repairs within the Repair Center as needed.

  • Maintain a high-quality focus on all Repair Center activities, independently researching the root causes of issues and driving corrective actions for reported quality problems using available DBS tools and methodologies.

  • Identify and oversee the development, testing, and deployment of processes, standard work, work instructions and other necessary documentation to support Repair Center activities. Lead special project development and documentation as required.

  • Partner with the local distribution center and the material planning group to manage inventory flow between the repair center and the distribution center and work cross functionally to facilitate repair center activities.

  • Be responsible for scheduling and providing training, coaching, and mentoring to technical staff to achieve repair center objectives.




The essential requirements of the job include:



  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Position requires 5+ years' experience working on Sciex and/or related OEM instrumentation as a Sr. Field Service Engineer, Field Service Application Specialist, Regional or Territory Specialist or related job category.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing high quality installation, repair, and maintenance on mass spectrometers, HPLC, and/or capillary electrophoresis instrumentation, with an understanding of SCIEX applications and software workflows.



Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:



  • Ability to travel up to 10%



  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50lb, ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist.




It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:




  • Detailed knowledge of Sciex instrument related procedures and tests (Install, PM, Qualification, Service, etc.)


  • Ability to develop and follow complex written instructions and procedures, including verbal direction.
