Job Title: R&D Engineer Intern - Clubs


Salary Range: $20.00/Hour (Estimated Time Frame: June 2025 through August 2025)


Location: Carlsbad, CA


Summary: In a position with immediate supervision, applies introductory level concepts of engineering disciplines, scientific methods and computer-based analysis tools to complete studies relevant to golf club design, lab and field measurement systems and performance analysis within the Club R&D Department. Is supervised through established engineering procedures and tools to perform research consistent with required standards. Works with R&D engineers on a project basis with the goal of contributing knowledge and enhancing existing R&D capabilities via accurate reporting and presentation of discoveries.


Responsibilities:



  • Supervised by members of the Research and Testing teams, providing valuable contributions to ongoing research projects and to development of new measurement and analytical capabilities. Participates in experimental testing and generation of high-quality data. Utilizes computational analysis software and established numerical techniques to analyze golf club designs and performance data. Applies fundamental engineering concepts to enhance current R&D measurement capabilities. Conducts studies on a project basis, collaborating with R&D engineers, and reports conclusions through presentations.

  • Provides an independent viewpoint and applies growing knowledge of engineering principles, numerical analysis techniques and empirical testing methods to contribute new inspiration to the Club Research, Development, and Testing Teams.

  • Career training. Interviews and collaborates with team members both inside and outside of R&D. Participates in group and department meetings. Participates in product testing both in the R&D Lab and at the Titleist Performance Institute.


Qualifications:



  • Must be enrolled in a full time 2 or 4 year engineering degree program

  • Strong preference for a candidate with interest in and exposure to the golf industry

  • Preference for candidates with experience in numerical analysis using MATLAB, Python, Excel

  • Experience and exposure to CAD (SolidWorks) and 3D motion capture preferable.
