The Communications Coordinator will contribute to the Forsah TVET activities in West Bank and Gaza. The Communication Coordinator will report to the Senior Awareness Campaign Officer, and will support communication and marketing activities, by developing and coordinating a range of communications materials. This role focuses on producing reports, success stories, visuals, and other content to effectively showcase project outcomes and achievements. The coordinator will work closely with the Forsah TVET team to engage partners and stakeholders to increase the visibility of the project’s initiatives. This role also involves ensuring that all communications are aligned with USAID branding and communication guidelines, contributing to a cohesive and impactful narrative for the Forsah TVET Activity.

The Communications Coordinator is an in-person position in Palestine.

Your Background & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Education, International Development, social sciences, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, journalism and/or similar roles in locally or regionally. 
  • Experience in media relations is considered a plus. 
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging and creative content for social media platforms. 
  • Demonstrated experience developing short-form videos like reels using Capcut or similar platforms/apps.   
  • Demonstrated experience writing reports, press releases, and/or highlight stories. 
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including youth, NGOs, donors, the private sector, and community-based institutions.  
  • Experience using visualization and communications tools and platforms such as Canva, Pictochart, PowerBI, MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, or other similar resources. 
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Strong representational and organizational skills.  
  • Attention to detail.  
  • Ability to set and follow plans and organize information in a clear, concise, and engagement manner.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Assist program communications strategy and materials development, guiding team members and partners in program promotions 
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of an outreach strategy to increase youth enrollment in TVET institutions, including increasing the number of skilled graduates of new/updated TVET programs in targeted sectors.  
  • Assist on perception survey to inform and support TVETs’ promotion and enrollment strategies.  
  • Support TVETs to engage students and forge institutional relationships with YDRCs to facilitate youth-led public awareness campaign competitions.  
  • Assist in the Design, development, and management of evidenced-based interventions targeted at increasing TVET institutions’ capacity to conduct outreach  
  • Assist in the design and creation of TVET awareness campaigns and coordinate with local partners to implement to meet the desired objectives  
  • Adaptively responds to changes in the operating environment to meet the desired objectives  
  • Applies PYD approaches and Do No (More) Harm approaches and address Gender and Disability Inclusion considerations and Environmental considerations in their work.  
  • Support in drafting and reviewing project communications materials, including success stories, press-releases, social media posts, internal/external reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual), presentations, and other deliverables ensuring adherence to USAID branding and marking guidelines. 
  • Provide editorial support to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency in project communications. 
  • Support the creation of videos, concept notes, storyboards, and coordinate with vendors for video production. 
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality visuals, infographics, and multimedia materials to communicate complex information simply and visually. 
  • Assist in designing and producing communication materials for both print and digital media, and in collaboration with partners and stakeholders 
  • Gather feedback, testimonials, and success stories from stakeholders to illustrate the project’s impact. 
  • Support capacity-building efforts aimed at enhancing the marketing and communication skills of professionals and youth.  
  • Contribute to training, feedback, and monitoring of marketing activities. 
  • Coordinate the design and execution of communication campaigns and materials, especially those led by the partner TVET institutions. 
  • Contribute to creating infographics and other visuals representing findings and insights. 
  • Provide logistical and communications support for project events, meetings, trainings, and activities.  
  • Capture footage, photographs, and testimonials, producing impactful write-ups to convey the project’s story and outcomes. 
  • Support the program in developing and implementing outreach and communication strategies. 
  • Contribute to Forsah TVET's presence on IREX’s social media channels and website. 
  • Coordinate and develop promotional activities and content calendars for the program; draft and implement creative content. 
  • Draft press releases, social media posts, and other communication documents. Support coordination with the USAID communication unit, IREX communication team, and media outlets. 
  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with program stakeholders, including public sector entities, civil society organizations, community-based organizations, local governments, donors, implementers, and beneficiaries. 
  • Work closely with TVET institutions and other partners to design and execute communication campaigns and materials, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
  • Assist in designing and producing communication materials in collaboration with partners and stakeholders for both print and digital media.
  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with a diverse range of program stakeholders, including public sector entities, civil society organizations, community-based organizations, local governments, donors, implementers, and beneficiaries.
  • Support the creation of a cohesive and impactful narrative by ensuring communication materials reflect the input and collaboration of all relevant partners.
  • Gather feedback, testimonials, and success stories from stakeholders to showcase the impact of the project and its initiatives, ensuring the narrative is well-aligned with the contributions of partners.
  • Provide logistical and communications support for project events, meetings, training, and activities involving key stakeholders, ensuring their contributions are highlighted in project communications.
  • Coordinate and support the design and execution of communication campaigns led by partner TVET institutions, ensuring the campaigns align with the overarching goals of the program.
  • Assist in finance, administrative, and budgeting tasks related to communication activities
  • Support in maintaining and updating the Forsah TVET communication and branding strategy and plan in compliance of the program and its implementing partners with USAID policies & regulations
  • Ensure application and implementation of vetting protocols for assigned activities  
  • All Forsah TVET staff will meet high standards of financial management and compliance, including contributing to accurate and timely vetting under MO21.  
  • Respond to changes in the operating environment to meet the desired objectives  
  • Ensure activities and communication materials are gender sensitive/transformative, align with positive youth development, and emphasize participatory and youth-led approaches  
  • Support the establishment, cultivation, and maintaining of relationships with the ecosystem of program stakeholders, including public sector entities, civil society organizations, community-based organizations, and local governments, donors and implementers, program beneficiaries, and others  
  • Contributes to improving the enabling environment by ameliorating social norms to increase TVET’s perceived value by all and removing barriers to access. 
  • Employ creativity to adapt to learning and challenges throughout implementation 
  • Build a collaborative team approach between and with colleagues, partners, TVET institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure effective programming  
  • Ensure programmatic cross-cutting themes are highlited and incorporated in communicaton plans, activities, and reporting, including PYD, GESI, and Green approaches 
  • Monitor implementation challenges, develop creative solutions, and keep others informed. 
  • Ensure plans meet security requirements and monitor activities for security challenges; work with colleagues and partners to address or adapt to security challenges.
  • Ensure activities support sustainable approaches to improve capacity of individuals and institutions to drive stable, long-term improvements.  
  • Other support duties as needed.
