Position Summary
The Study Coordinator will assist the Principal Investigator with the recruitment of study participants and collection of data for a NIH-funded study. For this project, we will be using a mixed-methods, multi-informant approach to characterize childhood suicide ideation and expressions of distress among children. We aim to recruit a sample of 150 children, ages 8 through 12, who have recently thought about or attempted suicide, along with their caregivers, from Emergency Departments (EDs) in New York City and Austin, Texas. Families will complete three assessments, baseline (within two weeks from the ED admission), and 3 and 6 months later. Caregivers can be fluent in English or Spanish. Starting at the beginning of 2025, we will recruit families for 3.5/4 years.
Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field is required. Working experience interviewing children is preferred.
